The Chapter of 2008 & The Beginning of 2009.

it came so quickly..

year end, i meant..

so fast that it still surprise me today is the LAST day of 2008..

its like..

everything is going so fast..

and im still lagging behind..

not catching up.

but.

2009..

i've decided to fully utilise my time..

i do not want it to be wasted..

do not want to waste time playing games or idle-ing around..

no more.

i wanted to write down my New Year Resolutions but thought i should keep it to myself.

because its personal.. =)

wanted to post pictures since its the end of the year..

but its a lil time consuming..

and my company's labbie is super slow.. =/

sigh.

anyway..

hopefully later we will go as planned.

hehe..

31st December 2008

9am - 1pm: work

1pm - 2pm: journey home

2pm-2.30pm: go rvm with bro to buy his contact lens

2.30-3pm: grilled training for my bro to learn how to wear contact lens
(provied he buy.. which i think he would coz i pay first =,=")

3pm-3.30pm: journey to tamp

3.30-5.30/6pm: bball
(attendees are my bro. sebas & me. mayb ron too)

6pm-6.30pm: either rest & cool down or go swimming complex have a dip

by 7pm: journey to sebas's house to put things, bath, etc.

8pm: meet at Ehub for dinner (most probably Pastamania)
(attendees are kl. my bro. sebas. ros n me)

8.30pm: should start dinner & leisure

9pm-10.30pm: either go arcade or walk around laze~

11pm: prepare to find the place where the countdown is held.
(hopefully kengpeng will come down from work to join us too!) =)

11.30pm: kiasu me must mass spam New Year greetings & wishes..
(coz on Christmas.. i send at 11.50pm.. & guess what..
the next day morning 10am+ ppl den recieve.. =,=")

12am: HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!

12am-12.30am: nua & wait for crowd to clear

12.30am-1am: decide whether to nua further at downtown or go sebas house play mahjong or charade or poker or jus simply NUA~

next day morning breakfast tgt den go home =D

yups.

budden coz my sling bag spoilt..

thank lovely kl for the adidas sling bag she bought for me..

even if it werent very sporty or look kiddish or not stylish enough..

i see the heart and effort she put into it when she got me that bag..

(even doh she last min buy de lar..)

budden still.... its the thought that counts ya?

i feel very blessed and happy.

and i hope those ppl whom i blessed with gifts, or cards, will feel blessed too..

19th - 21st dec were the 3 days where moments, laughters & joy were planted deep down in my heart.. and nothing could ever replace them..

sometimes..

ppl whom are called friends..

or friends whom have been with you since sec 1 or primary school..

might not be compared AT ALL..

to those whom use their heart to treat you.. to love you.. to be with you..

somehow..

it makes me think alot..

and reflect alot..

other den coz its the end of the year..

a time of reflection..

i occasionally reflect upon such stuffs to make me aware of the things around me..

and make me wake up or improve myself..

and this 'thing' about - not the duration but the experience; taught me alot.

i duno how i came to this conclusion..

or how come i would think that far.. (coz ppl kept saying i think too much)

but still..

i find that its like a ... lesson..

or experience..

something that you'd hafta feel and experience it urself to understand..

even doh saturday was a fun day..

it was the suay-iest day ever..

1) i slipped mouth and say "mayb i wake up at 8am" to selin when i was trying to calculate wad time im suppose to reach sch which is 8.45am.. and selin was like saying... "8am wake up? lidat sure late wad.." den i was like.. "eh! ya hor.. zzz. i mean.. mayb 8am leave house... ... ..."

and behold!

i woke up at 8am that day. =,="

2) i missed lrt. i missed mrt. thus i reached outram park at 9am. =,="

3) there was no shuttle bus so when i saw a SBS bus.. i ran........

and behold!

my bag strap snapped and i actually ran 2 steps WITHOUT my bag.. =,="

if there were any spectators.. i bet they laughed till their stomach ached.

so i hugged my bag all the way to school, half ran.

4) lab is about blood platelets thingy. ended up hafta take 3 sets of blood coz the RBCs burst.. zzz. only thing is thank God its NOT MY BLOOOD.

5) it suddenly rained damn bloody heavily once hana helped me with my bag by putting ALOT of safety pins.

6) when i took my umbrella out and open it.. the strap detacted and broke so i can only hold the handle when the umbrella is closed.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!

7) reached tamp.. went into Alano and i tripped =,=" thankfully nv fall.

8) i had onli $19.90 and hadta lend a pathetic 10CENTS from hana to buy the Twilight sneak preview tickets for me n kl..

9) i had a splitting headache just half an hour before 5pm.. den i met kl.. den we were a lil too earli and a lil too late.. so we walked around.. in the lift.. i was pushed around like a dummy.. thanks to a SUPER KIASU dad. and the ultimate is i was smashed against the door by that dad.

dun make me start.

10) i jus did my nails and............................... 6 of the nail art fell out.

thank God its over.

btw. the headache was sooooooooooo overpowering that i wanted to scold badword..

and.... Twilight isnt that nice... hopefully not coz of my splitting headache.

geez..

den on sunday..

kl left at 2.30pm for home coz her grandma isnt home and she hadta be home..

so.. yeah.

anyway.. sebas din feel well and went visiting the toiletbowl for a couple of time..

about 3++ sebas left for home to change and put down his bag..

before meeting me at 4.15pm at bball court..

we din reali wana play but its like nth else to do and so.. yup.

anyway.. it was last min and kinda sian coz onli we 2..

pathetic la.

COMMUNICATION

Communication in an organisation turns the light on for everyone.

People do not function well in the dark.

Absence of communication leaves people in the dark.

Fear, distrust, suspicion, gossip and rumour all fester in this dark.

Trust, faith and security make an organisation healthy.

Communicate with people all the time.

Arrange systems of communications.

Use all the technology available to maintain open lines.

Any military strategist will tell you that an army without communications is a defeated army.

Turn the light on in your families, your workplace, your networks.

HUMILITY

COMPLAINING

When we reach the threshold of what we can cope with we complain.

This means we need to increase our capacity in that area.

Complaining is the language of victims.

We complain when we feel we have no control over negative circumstances.

Leaders cope with more than the people they lead.

They don't complain, they give thanks and see the upside.

To the positive mindset solutions appear.

The negative complaining mind fails to see any way through.

'In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.' 1 Thess 5:18-19

FINDING A WAY

The leader communicates the vision and announces the plan.

He selects and commissions a team to find the way to make it happen.

Consensus is good to a point. Then it's all about the leadership.

The team are not the ones to say whether it can or cannot be done.

Moses' team exceeded their commission.

They were meant to find a way to implement their leaders' vision.

The finance people are not to say whether it can or can't be done.

The HR people, the PR people, the management team are to find ways to make it happen, not find reasons why it can't happen.

A majestic thing is a leader and his team working together properly (Proverbs 30:30,31)

CLARITY

If what we say is complicated and complex we are foolish.

Great leaders speak in clear, simple, easily understood terms.

Everybody following understands exactly what is required.

The signal is clear about where we are going and where we are not.

Great leaders master the art of communication.

Successful communication is not in how much is said, but rather in the clarity. Did the listeners get it?

If they 'got it', at what level were they inspired to act?

Our people get courage from clear communication.

They get ready for war.

Say it as simply as you possibly can.

FORGIVENESS

Logic fails to answer the argument offered by a wounded heart.

The wounded justify bad attitudes with logic.

'They did it first.' 'Everybody does it.' 'They deserve it.'

A rational answer doesn't solve an emotional problem.

Forgiveness is the key to healing.

Forgive people before they apologise.

Even though it doesn't seem fair. You want revenge.

But forgive them. Let it go. Be bigger than your offenders.

Everyday, forgive everybody everything they've ever done against you.

And healing and health are yours.

RESTING

Rest comes in a deserted place. Where no people are.

This is immensely difficult for a leader;

- to come aside from their work,
- to locate in a deserted place alone,
- to remain there for a while,
- to rest, that is to stop working,

However, this is an art that must be mastered, otherwise the leader's faculties will wear out.

They will render themselves useless.

Rest adds up to recovery, creativeness, energy.

Find a deserted place, go there and do nothing.

A miracle will happen!

A competent but disloyal team member is a far worse curse than an average but loyal member.

No skill atones for disloyalty.

FRIENDS

God says, 'It's not good that man be alone.'

Friends are to laugh with, cry with and do life together with.

Friends are forged in fire.

Shared experience is the basis of relationship.

Be there in their ups, their downs, and friendship forms.

Our destiny is locked into our friendships.

Jonathan was meant to inherit his father Saul's throne, but he prepared his soul friend David for that.

Learn to live with imperfect situations, unresolved issues and unfulfilled expectations without losing your great spirit.

There's always something that isn't the way you want it.

If the unresolved problem gets you, then it's won.

Stay on top even when it's trying to get you down, and you'll win.

This is Christianity at its best.

We can't escape the past by trying to live in the future.

Unresolved offences, unconfessed sins, unpaid bills, unsaid apologies, unwritten letters will torpedo both our present and future.

Then we need to secure our present - create patterns and systems to live by, organise work and play - establish priorities and commitments.

Our foundation is solid.

Now we can dream, pray, prepare, plan and stategize for the future.

In the Beginning

The God who had no beginning made the beginning, and empowered everything that he made to also create new beginnings.

He implanted the principle of the seed into all of creation.

The power of creation lives within every one of us - genetically, inventively, artistically and verbally - all of us have been empowered by our Creator to also be creative.

The astonishing truth that belies the breadth of human thinking is that once we were not. You, me, we did not exist.

We were nowhere. Not created. Not being.

But somehow out of nothing, God formed and fashioned us, we are self aware.

We have an environment, the universe, both small and endless with which we interact.

There are moments when the mind simply cannot fathom this vast fact. Yet the endless God created the beginning.

You and I have been created as part of his awesome plan, an amazing adventure.

Freewill Giving

Great leaders inspire people to give.

Giving is like sowing a seed.

Whatever is given will return multiplied.

When we take from people, they aren't giving.

Once people start giving they are enabled and empowered.

Our best results come from what we give, not from what people take from us.

The team that gives more time than they have to, will bind together.

The people that give money, they don't have to create a culture of celebration.

The leader that gives attention they're not paid for will exceed expectations.
